Scientific Director

Dr. Payne is certified as a clinical laboratory scientist-specialist in Molecular Biology CLSp(MB), Clinical Laboratory Director CLDir(NCA), is a Fellow of the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry (FACB), and is board certified by the American Board of Clinical Chemistry in Molecular Diagnostics (DABCC) and by the American Board of Medical Microbiology (DABMM). She has Certificates of Qualification from the New York Department of Health in bacteriology, mycology, parasitology, virology, oncology, molecular, and cellular tumor markers.

Dr. Payne received her Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas; and performed her post-doctoral training at UTMB and the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Payne has over 20 years of experience in senior director roles in molecular diagnostics, and over 30 years of experience in molecular biology.  Dr. Payne is internationally recognized in molecular diagnostics, is an active speaker, and is a well-published active member of numerous committees and industry organizations. Also, she is the only U.S. member and Chair of the Molecular Diagnostics Committee for the International Federation of Clinical Chemists (IFCC).  Dr. Payne has authored or co-authored eight book chapters, and over 60 manuscripts, and is an Associate Editor for the Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine journal (CCLM).
